Inspire, Fulfill and Engage – Your Home for Jewish life in Jacksonville
Get your children involved in Jewish life at the Center!
USY, Kadima, Chalutzim, Scouts, JTLI and Siyyum are all programs offered here.
Chalutzim is the Center’s youth group for 4th and 5th graders where they build and maintain strong social connections with Jewish peers. The goal of Chalutzim is to provide a sense of joy, excitement and fun that can happen in our Synagogue kehillah. Our Chalutzim program allows our participants to enjoy programs with a Jewish twist with other Jewish kids that they may not otherwise meet!
Kadima is the training ground for USY. The goal of Kadima is to provide 6th-8th graders with a firm knowledge-base and Jewish identity, a sense of pride in their heritage, and a commitment to Judaism. Middle school age children have the opportunity to share social Jewish connections through weekly programs and Shabbat conventions.
USY is the Conservative movement’s award winning youth engagement program. Here you’ll find teens empowered to own their Jewish journey through services, summer programs and of course local chapter events. Participants experience how Jewish living through study, action and fellowship leads the way to personal fulfillment and growth. Membership in USY will give our young people the security of belonging to a group, and, through it, identifying with their Synagogue, community, and the Jewish people. USY encourages programming relevant to the particular interests of our teens, to the personal commitments they want to make, to the values that they particularly cherish, and to the contemporary problems that arouse their attention.
Scouts BSA has a century of tradition at the Jacksonville Jewish Center. It is our pleasure to bring Jewish learning to the scout world by providing a shomer Shabbat experience as the children earn badges through the BSA program. For more information about our Scouting programs, please contact Scout Master Allan Andrew by phone at 904-563-5261.
JTLI is the focused learning opportunity for post B’nei Mitzvah teens (grades 8th through 11th) to engage in conversations through a Jewish lens. Teens learn about the Jewish approaches to relationships, social responsibility to the community at large and more by gathering several times a month to go deep in their learning. The teens will be able to give back to the greater Jacksonville community, and simultaneously cultivate their leadership skills.
Siyyum is where high school seniors learn with Rabbi Lubliner strengthening their commitment to the Jewish community. The program includes joining AIPAC in March and making a difference with a local organization outside of the Jewish community.
Setzer Youth Education Programs are open to all Jewish youth in Northeast Florida.
