Jewish Life

Jewish life is the heart of what we do as a Synagogue. Our Jewish identity informs all that we do from our social programming, to our community service projects, to our prayer services. Through meaningful worship services, excellent educational and youth programs, and dynamic cultural activities, the Jacksonville Jewish Center encourages individuals of all backgrounds to grow and participate in the vibrant Jewish life of our synagogue community.

We are a community of learners – believing that learning is essential to living a meaningful Jewish life. Learning links us to our heritage and teaches our values to future generations. Learning keeps us vibrant and interesting, and keeps us grounded in our own tradition.

We are a community of doers – celebrating Shabbat and holidays has kept Jews connected for generations and we carry on that tradition today. Our calendar is full of ways to help you observe and celebrate the many wonderful Jewish holidays.

We are a community of prayers – as a dynamic prayer community, we believe that you can restore your soul and your connection to others through daily prayer services. On weekdays, Shabbat, Holidays, and at significant moments in your life, we have a variety of opportunities to help you touch your soul.
