Margo’s Kosher Catering

Margo Ruby started her catering business in 1973 from her home on the south side of Jacksonville.  Over the years, Margo and her husband employed all 4 of their children, opened a restaurant, a bakery, and a gourmet shop, yet Margo never gave up on her passion for the catering business. Margo’s has catered for President Bill Clinton, Shimon Peres, the current President of Israel, Skitch Henderson, Benny Goodman and numerous local celebrities throughout Northeast Florida and Southern Georgia. She also catered on the Honey Fitz, a yacht used by various United States Presidents. In 2012, Margo Ruby retired from the catering business and passed on her legacy.

Margo’s Catering is now owned and operated by her youngest son, Andrew and his wife Catrina. Andrew has worked with his mother since he was a teenager and was honored to continue Margo’s legacy. His talents in buffet designs, one of a kind fruit sculptures, menu creations, and the execution of the simplest events to the most elegant has far exceeded Margo’s dreams. Catrina has taken on the creative role of Head Pastry Chef, baking delectable confections from homemade chocolate chip cookies to three tiered wedding cakes. Along with her pastry duties she is also the Kitchen and Office Manager. Together they make the perfect culinary pair!

For the past 20 years, Margo’s Catering has returned to its roots, serving as the exclusive Kosher caterer for the Jacksonville Jewish Center. Catering all events from their private school lunch program, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, elaborate weddings to take out meals for various Jewish holidays and all other life cycle events.

In addition to catering, we also offer full service Event Design and Coordination. Our Certified Wedding and Special Event Planner, Jessica Ruby Levine (Margo’s Granddaughter) provides our clients with peace of mind that every detail of their special day has been carefully tended to. After earning her BFA in Stage Management from the University of Central Florida, Jessica moved back to her hometown to work as a Project Manager for  a special event production company. While there, she focused primarily on weddings and social events. With parties ranging in size, budget, and theme Jessica honed her craft and decided to expand her family business in 2017. Jessica’s services include full event planning, décor services, and coordination packages. Jessica is also responsible for all marketing materials and social media for the company.
